Or maybe rather—Sandwiches, Sweaters and Shivers? Returning from an extended family camp out a random roadside splash pad appeared. Was it raining as well, perhaps spitting initially? The photo pulled at me for years.
What started as a teacup exercise, became one major goof up that has changed the way I look at prayer. There was an apparent disconnect with the saucer and teacup. It was tempting to pitch the works, soon after starting. The marbles scrubbed out in a painstaking process of what some water colourists call “lifting off”. Life is a wobbly at the best of times.
When looking up the meaning of “precarious” from the title I found Merriam Webster has this to say, “...but what precariousness really hangs on, in the end, is prex, the Latin word for prayer. From prex came the Latin word precarius, meaning "obtained by entreaty," from whence came our own adjective precarious. Anglo-French priere, also from precarius, gave us prayer.”
Floating in water fascinates me. Study for Grotto Guy.

Blueberries the Size of Quarters
Family trek to pick blueberries. Horst children came along for the scout. The wonderment of Anna and Lauren's friendship and the rag tag of small adventures captured my heart.
Thank you, Lake Nipissing.
Kayaks and Canoe
First oil...and gift to Peter for Father's Day, Christmas, and Birthday... It was kind of a big milestone at them time.
The shapes and roll are ones that I might do different if for someone else but because they were our quirky floaters and vacation site, you work with it. Ahhh, Shuswap on Lake Nipissing, until we meet again.
“Twirl Girls~Hanging at the Rink”
To finish a rink image in summer, feels wonky.
Some images spring forward, others are doomed to be wrestled with. "Twirl Girls~Hanging at the Rink," began the day my daughter insisted on twirling in jeans at centre ice, under the instruction of her figure-trained friend, at a free skate. As a young woman, “Darling Daughter” convinced her parents she could catch up to the little people who began training post toddlers.
Figure skating has ear marked her personality. What she pours her passion into she will excel at.
Have been so impressed with the passion of the coaches, whether, paid or volunteers who pour into young lives, for the love of the “twirl.”
The Morning the Sheep Got Out
Not every day someone brings in a saw blade, requesting—“memories,” a specific sheep and a barn door. Sometimes, one just needs to trust that the request stirs more for them than the rest of us.
Flossing Together 50 Years
A caricature of growing old beautifully, despite the mundane.
Though started years ago as a family tribute to my husband's parents, it didn't sit right to accentuate foibles, especially once deceased.
I want to be a gal who can love in sickness and in health...resistant of obstacles and celebrating family joy.
Rufus, was a quick commission for a Christmas gift. Having not met Mr. Rufus, I was feeling at a disadvantage to do him dignity. I am told it his playful youth was captured. Phew.
