Tuesday Morning Painters

Tuesday Morning Painters are a gaggle of mixed nuts and talent. They gather to exchange accents, jokes, and tall tales. Started referring to it as BYO-comedy. Each is finding a visual voice.

Often time working through exercises and sometimes even projects...they really are a talented lot, but no one taking themselves too seriously.

Adult ~ Beginner to Intermediate

Every Tuesday, repeat

Art After School

Art After School

Tuesdays, 4 to 5 pm

The time slot is a staggered because kids age 7 through 13 are coming from all directions, walking, buses, taxi parents...tide-them-over-snack at pre 4 and get a move on AT 4:00.

Simple, playful, drawing, clay, acrylics, watercolour, printmaking and arty stuff. There is “never enough time to do the things you want to do, once you find them...” We create items that stretch the visual voice. It isn't “big art” but the variety of artist materials is engaging, fast and productive.

($12 includes HST if paying by the Tuesday)
(Cost saving if registered for 10 or more sessions $100 + HST)
10% off for siblings

Writers Unite

Ruckus writers meet first Friday of most months, 7:30 - 9:30 pm (that said they often go later), 24a Wood St to spur one another on. They will probably even give you homework...but it is all for the sake of good encouragement and growing.

Please do connect prior to setting out...there are the odd months they take a session off. {Here, I will say it for you, “Slackers.” Feel better now? Well, you shouldn’t, they might even conscript you for a snack. For the record...Donna would be the slacker in this class because that is where I go to doodle.}

Contact local writer and publisher, Glynis Belec ~ writer@glynisbelec.com
They will gladly tell you more.

$4 per evening {saving to bring in speakers}

An arts/crafty afternoon at the Palmerston Public Library from 2 - 3:30 pm ~ the third Wednesday of each month.

Chalk pastels and oil pastels. Explore the drawing tools—hands on. We will practice finding form through shading.

A creative group who want to nurture their creative side gather at the Palmerston Library downstairs (left). Sometimes it is art, sometimes it is more crafty. The hope is that reviewed or new techniques will springboard the creative stir to keep minds active and masterpieces to follow at home. And that friends get a cheap chance to hang together and not take themselves too seriously.

6.   Homework: How brave do we go?

Sketch and Draw | Alt. Fridays

Drawing is everywhere and valuable for any creative process. The back bone of visual communication. Whether designing a roadster, new logo, pair of shoes...drawing and seeing the spaces relationships and interactions and the values that create space...I think I might be drooling a little talking about all this luscious stuff.

Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, by Betty Edwards has a large influence on the process of drawing. Practice and challenges and keeping a sketch book are oh so valuable too.

Home School Art

So many artists, so little time! Exposure to art and a variety of materials. Emphasis on drawing and pretending to see through the eyes of historical icons. We won’t necessarily do what they were doing to the same success, { two hours goes by very quickly! }, but the goal will internalize and create in a likeness of an artist that has gone before us. Sometimes from the classics, sometimes from a contemporary.

Home school art for multi-ages. Children from a family can continue to learn together but be challenged at their level or current stage
