Mimic an Artist — Homeschoolers

Thursday afternoons 1:30-3:30

The focus is on Line | Shape | Form | Colour | Texture. Each lesson will have a drawing or planning component, this session attentive to the proportions of people. It is also a goal of mine to link the project to a history component. Perhaps it will be a bit of the biography of the artist or learning about why a technique was popular or the context of what the art of the day was moving through. The children do the same project but at their skill level. The youngest ones typically with parental help.

Typically there was a break halfway with a light snack, teacher talking review, a wee recess, often times connected to the idea of the day. Hope this helps in your homeschool planning. I have such respect for the families that take this on!

Pricing. I absolutely hate this part. $12 per child x 12 sessions is $144 +HST (with a 10% discount per sibling). We have had as many as twelve students at a time. My preference is to have eight as a maximum. Last year we did “Art Around the World” with the same ages involved and it worked well. This is a twelve-week program. For the first time ever, Studio Factor is requesting a $25 registration fee per student and the remainder may be paid per session.
